Cabinet funds Iran gas pipelineBAGHDAD — Iraq’s Cabinet has approved initial funding for a natural gas import pipeline from Iran, which will feed several power plants, including Mansuriya, al-Quds, and South Baghdad.The pipeline will run parallel to the crude oil pipeline from Nafta Khana towards Baghdad, importing 25 million cubic meters of gas per day, enough to generate approximately 3,000 megawatts of electricity, according to government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh.In late May,...
