Iraq sets January bidding round date, amidst delays

The Oil Ministry has scheduled its fourth bidding round for Jan. 25 or 26, despite parliamentary opposition, and will release the list of pre-qualified companies next week.

BAGHDAD - The Oil Ministry said it will hold the fourth bidding round on Jan. 25 or 26 of next year, and has scheduled a road show with foreign oil companies for Sept. 11, despite a proposal in Parliament to suspend new oil and gas deals.

The companies will compete for 12 oil and gas exploration blocks.
