KIRKUK - An oil well at the Khabbaz field was blown up on Tuesday evening, the latest sign that Kirkuk province’s oil infrastructure remains vulnerable to attack even as militants from the so-called Islamic State (IS) group are pushed back by Iraqi offensives elsewhere in the country.

“The attack has been perpetrated by Daesh terrorists,” said Brig. Gen. Sarhad Qadir, the police chief of the sub-districts of Kirkuk province.
