Kurdistan sells first pipeline exports
Despite legal threats from Baghdad and diplomatic pressure from the U.S., the KRG has sold its first pipeline exports for $101 per barrel.
ERBIL - Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region has sold its first piped oil exports – defying legal threats from Baghdad and taking another step toward economic independence.
A senior official from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) confirmed that 1.048 million barrels of oil had been sold for $106 million, meaning it was priced at just over $101 per barrel.
