I wish that comments of Mr. Jiyad are explained in less technical language so that the average Iraqis can form an opinion to support or oppose these contracts.
As a non specialist Iraqi, the terms of the contract seems to be remarkably simple to understand. The Oil company will be paid a remuneration fee for each barel increase over the present production rate. I fail to understand the great relevance of the Minimum Plateau Production since it is both in the interest of Iraq and the oil company to maximize production. Aditionally it is a simple and fair parameter to compare competing bids.
My main concern as a nationalist is the ensurance that the top management and key decisions should remain with Iraq including giving Iraqies absolute priority in employment and investment in education and training of Iraqies.
I hope that Mr. Jiyad will respond to this.
