Iraq plans to hire an international consultant to help validate its claims to oil and gas resources near its neighbors, top oil ministry officials said Thursday, the same day Iraq announced it will auction a field that stretches between the borders with Iran and Kuwait.
"We shall not hesitate or wait in developing the shared oil fields," Iraqi Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani told reporters.
