Iraq's next oil minister

Any of these candidates for the oil portfolio in the next government have a massive task in reconstruction and expansion that will make or break the country.

Many things must happen before the next government's oil minister is chosen. The government itself has to be formed, a president, prime minister and speaker of the Parliament picked.

The vote, Sunday, March 7, the challenges and the counting, will be a test of wills and patience in what has been a highly competitive and controversial effort to pass an election law, let alone vet candidates and commence campaigning.
