Ben Lando – Iraq Bureau Chief
Ben Lando is the founder and Iraq Bureau Chief of Iraq Oil Report. Ben was previously the energy editor at United Press International, reporting extensively on and from Iraq. He also served as UPI’s energy correspondent while based in Washington DC. Throughout his career, he has reported on energy, political and security issues in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Turkey, UAE, Jordan, UK and the United States. He is currently also the Iraq-based freelance reporter for Platts, and a freelance reporter for The Wall Street Journal and TIME. Ben has been published in The Washington Times, The Jerusalem Post and World Politics Review, and has given numerous expert interviews to BBC News, NPR, The Washington Post and other media outlets. He is a noted specialist on Iraq, and has consulted members of the U.S. Congress and global business risk and investment firms on a myriad of topics.
Ben is based in Baghdad and travels frequently around the Middle East. He oversees a team of journalists and researchers based in Iraq, and throughout the world.

Karin Kitsman Nunan – Business Research Analyst
As an independent contractor with the Nunan Consultancy, Karin is responsible for conducting research and analysis on the Iraq oil and gas market for SNI. She has over five years of in-country experience throughout Iraq, having been a political and market analyst for a major US oil company and an intelligence program manager for a risk and security consulting firm. Prior to her career in consulting, Karin worked in the US Department of State where she served tours in Iraq, as well as spent a year embedded with the US Department of Energy monitoring Middle East energy markets and their impact on US security.

Manus Nunan – Security and Risk Analyst
As an independent contractor with the Nunan Consultancy, Manus is responsible for independent security and risk analysis on Iraq for SNI. Having been based in Iraq since 2003, he has been consulting for companies in various sectors seeking to enter the Iraq marketplace. Prior to this, he served as a Country Manager and an Operations Director for two of the largest security and risk companies operating throughout Iraq. In his previous career, Manus served as a Captain in the British Army.

Peter Suomi – Vice-President, Business Development & Strategy
Peter is responsible for all business development activity and strategic initiatives for Iraq Oil Report. He has extensive experience in the research consulting industry, having formerly worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit in New York, Australia, Singapore, India and Thailand. As a Director, he was responsible for all business development and strategic partnerships for South and Southeast Asia. Peter was the regional head for the EIU’s client research practice in Asia and was instrumental in the opening of the EIU’s offices in Sydney and Delhi. Peter received his MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and his BA in economics and political science from the University of Michigan.
