August production soars as Iraq grabs market share

For the second straight month, Iraq has increased production by more than 100,000 bpd as it unleashes latent capacity.

Nationwide oil production grew steeply again in August, as the federal government continued to unlock field capacity in the wake of loosening OPEC constraints.

Combined output from the federal government and the autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) hit 4.81 million barrels per day (bpd), according to an Iraq Oil Report analysis based on data gathered monthly from each of the country's oil fields.*
