Baghdad-KRG oil rights case delayed again

Iraq's Federal Supreme Court is struggling to appoint impartial technical experts to help parse the arguments over the legality of Kurdistan's independent oil sector.

BAGHDAD - Iraq’s Federal Supreme Court failed to move ahead with a much anticipated case regarding the autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) independent oil policy.

In its previous session, on Aug. 29, the court had asked the Iraqi Geologists Union to nominate a pool of 10 experts who could help the judges understand the technical details of the case. Legal advisors representing Baghdad and the KRG were then supposed to agree on three.
