BASRA/BAGHDAD - Deputy Oil Minister Fayadh Nema, one of the ministry's most experienced and trusted executives, is retiring from his post at the end of March.

His departure is likely to reduce the capacity of the ministry's executive ranks, at a time when Oil Minister Thamir Ghadhban – who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister for Energy – is being called on to perform many functions of outgoing Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi following his quasi-resignation.
