Q&A: Dhia Shaker al-Luaibi, director of Majnoon oil field

MAJNOON - When Royal Dutch Shell left the Majnoon oil field, in 2018, the state-run Basra Oil Company (BOC) took over as operator and contracted with KBR and Anton Oil to help manage the project.

Earlier this month, Iraq's Cabinet approved an extension of those contracts as the field prepares to raise production — reversing an 80 percent curtailment associated with OPEC cuts — and further increase capacity.
