Total expected to sign $27 billion deal on Sept. 5

BAGHDAD - French supermajor TotalEnergies is scheduled to sign a multi-billion-dollar energy deal with Iraq this Sunday in Baghdad, according to several officials familiar with the plans.

A formal invitation to the signing ceremony, which was seen by Iraq Oil Report and confirmed as authentic by senior Iraqi officials, says the event will take place at 3 p.m. on Sept. 5 at the Republican Palace.
