Iraq signals progress in reviving Turkey pipeline

Iraq has made significant progress in rehabilitating its long-dormant federal export pipeline to Turkey — a development that is unlikely to lift oil sales in the short term but could help provide strategic flexibility in the future.

The State Company for Oil Projects (SCOP) announced on July 19 that it had completed rehabilitation of the pipeline, which was largely destroyed in 2014, and the state-run North Oil Company (NOC) said the same day that the pipeline is ready to export crude at a rate of 300,000 to 350,000 barrels per day (bpd).
