Q&A: MP Ali al-Allaq, running on Haider al-Abadi’s list

BAGHDAD - The Dawa Party, which has produced all of Iraq’s prime ministers for the past 13 years, has split into competing electoral lists for national elections on May 12.

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has formed the Nasr (Victory) Coalition, fielding a multi-party list of candidates in every province. His predecessor, Nouri al-Maliki, again heads the State of Law list.
