Supreme Court supports recount, raises new questions

BAGHDAD - A ruling Thursday by Iraq’s highest court has deepened the political uncertainty surrounding Iraq’s recent elections and ongoing negotiations to form a new government.

The Supreme Court issued a much-anticipated decision that substantially supported the Iraqi Parliament's legislation, passed on June 6, which amended the country's election law to mandate a full manual recount of all votes.
