Basra Gas Company begins April 15

BAGHDAD - Iraq's new joint venture with Royal Dutch Shell to capture flared gas in Basra will start formal operations next month, processing 400 million cubic feet per day.

"Next month, on April 15, it will be the official opening of the Basra Gas Company," said Ali Khudhier, the director general of the state-run South Gas Company (SGC).
