Bomb targets Anbar governor

RAMADI - The long-serving governor of Anbar province, Qasim Abid, was targeted by a car bomb, injuring bodyguards and underscoring the fragile state of the country's largest province.

"A car bomb parked on the side of the road leading to the building of the government departments exploded, targeting the convoy of the governor," said an official with the Anbar Operations Command, the primary government security authority in the province.
