Chevron to spud first well this week

LONDON - U.S. oil major Chevron is pressing forward with new drilling and exploration activities in Iraqi Kurdistan.

The super-major will spud the Sarta-2 well by the end of the week, Rovi-2 in July and begin seismic by year's end on the newly signed Qara Dagh block, according to a senior company official.
