Dhi Qar warns against politicizing army in Anbar

NASSIRIYA - The security advisor to the governor of Dhi Qar province is calling on the government to bring back local army brigades after they were redeployed to Anbar and Ninewa provinces.

Murad Kadhim Hassoun, a member of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's Dawa Party, said three regiments of the 38th and 10th Brigades were sent six months ago to Ninewa to secure the border with Syria, and "riot control regiments" have been sent to Anbar province after protests there began.
