Iran pipeline may scupper free zone

BAQUBA - A large investment project in Diyala province is in danger following the Ministry of Oil's decision to route a gas pipeline from Iran through a planned free zone.

"The project to extend a pipeline to transfer Iranian gas to Iraq adopted by the Oil Ministry encroached on the territory earmarked for the construction of an international free zone," said Iraqi List MP Nahida al-Daini. "It will be difficult to continue in the free zone project."
