Ministry of Defense: ‘defects’ in northern pipeline security

Spokesperson acknowledges Iraqi Army 4th Division to blame for letting four bombs hit the northern oil export pipeline since Oct. 26, says government working on solution.

Iraq’s ministries of defense and oil are working on a solution to the security gap in the area north of Beiji that led to four successful bombings of the export pipeline in the past two months, Defense Ministry spokesperson Major General Mohammed al-Askari said Tuesday.
