BASRA - The stakes are high for the energy sector as Iraq approaches national elections on Nov. 11.

Despite significant regional volatility, Iraq’s investment climate has begun to look increasingly welcoming to international companies, and the next prime minister will determine whether the country can continue to balance tough geopolitical pressures, especially between the U.S. and Iran.
