BASRA - Ali Shaddad al-Faris, an MP from Basra MP and veteran of the Parliament Oil and Gas Committee, said the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is to blame for the ongoing stalemate in implementing the financial and oil provisions of the budget law.

He said the KRG “introduced new conditions” such as increasing the amount of crude that can be consumed on the local market, thereby reducing the amount of oil to be accounted for via Iraq’s state marketing company, SOMO.
