Iraq formally opens Dhi Qar Oil Company
The country's fifth E&P company has officially become independent from South Oil Company.

NASSIRIYA - The Dhi Qar Oilfields Authority is now a company in its own right, split from the South Oil Company (SOC) after years of discussion.
"We congratulate the local government and the people of Dhi Qar whom will witness job opportunities and social benefits increase," said Iraqi Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luiebi, who presided over a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the provincial capital fo Nassiriya on Thursday.
