Peshmerga complete northern offensive

ERBIL - Kurdish Peshmerga forces have secured several villages around Bashiqa, north of Mosul, largely drawing to a close their planned role in a campaign to liberate Ninewa province from the so-called Islamic State (IS) militant group.

"Mission accomplished," said a senior Peshmerga officer on the Bashiqa front. "We got it done at Bashiqa."
