The Daily Telegraph reports:

A FORMER member of the Australian Wheat Board’s sales team has told a court he knew its Iraq contracts were “unusual” but thought this was because it was working in a war-torn country. Nigel Edmonds-Wilson told the Supreme Court of Victoria yesterday that there was an understanding at AWB that its contracts with Iraq were different from other countries as they included payments for inland transport services carried out in a dangerous environment.

The former member of AWB’s international sales and marketing team was the first witness in the Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s case against former AWB chairman Trevor Flugge and general manager for trading Peter Geary.
