The Iraqi government is making efforts to start a dialogue with Syrian to hand over wanted Iraqis living in Syria as refugees, according to a close aide of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

Leader in State of Law Coalition Kamal al-Saadi told AKnews: "We can't tell about the success of dialogues because this is related to the conviction of the Syrian side, but we rely too much on the understanding of the Syrian government about the requirements of justice against those who caused harm for the Iraqi people.

"We respect the Syrian choice to grant political asylum to those who deserve it, according to its opinion, but we can't consider those who send bombed cars and plan to kill the Iraqi people as political refugees," added Saadi.
