A recent International Energy Agency (IEA) report said Iraq will be the primary source of new global oil supply growth into the future – a projection that depended on expert analysis of the country's past problems and future needs.
Tariq Shafiq, who served as an adviser to the IEA on the report, has been a central player in the development of Iraq's oil sector since the 1950s.
