Basra gas deal with Shell stalled
Negotiations on joint venture company to capture wasted natural gas have ended and project will be put to tender, said Iraqi Minister of Electricity.BAGHDAD - A plan to capture and utilize massive amounts natural gas currently being burned away has apparently been scrapped after more than a year of negotiations between the Iraqi Oil Ministry and Royal Dutch Shell.
"They terminated the negotiations now," said Iraqi Electricity Minister Karim Hasan.
