Bombs strike prominent Basra hotel

BASRA - Two bombs at the Mnawi Basha hotel, popular with foreign visitors including oil companies, injured up to a dozen people and damaged the lobby Tuesday evening.

One car bomb detonated around 7 p.m. Tuesday at the front security gate of the hotel, according to police officials in Basra. A second bomb was behind the hotel.
