Dhi Qar officials protest South Oil hiring practices

NASSIRIYA – Members of the Dhi Qar provincial council plan to send a delegation to the Basra headquarters of Iraq’s state-run South Oil Co. to complain about alleged exclusionary hiring practices.

"The Dhi Qar council discussed the matter of appointing people only from Basra and formally recorded its objection to the (South) Oil Company," said council member Hassan al-Asadi.
