Funding boost for Fao port

BASRA - Improvements to Iraq's major port at Fao in Basra province have received a funding allocation boost after the passage of the 2013 federal budget.

According to Susan al-Saad, a Member of Parliament within the National Alliance coalition, a breakwater project to improve traffic flow at the port now has a funding allocation of 300 billion Iraqi dinars ($250 million), up from 100 billion ($83.3 million) in 2012.
