Indonesia, Malaysia and China could team up for bid

Pertamina is exploring an Iraq oil deal with Petronas, CNPC in bidding for oilfield in Iraq.

Indonesia's state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina said that it has been pre-qualified to take part in Iraq's upcoming licensing round and that it is in talks with Malaysia's Petronas and China's CNPC to develop the block it is bidding for jointly if it wins.

The company declined to name the block on which it is focusing its bidding, but Dwi Martono, director of international businesses at Pertamina's upstream subsidiary PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, told Dow Jones that the oilfield in question would have a targeted 200,000-b/d production capacity.
