Iraq oil exports increase

Oil exports from Basra increase, drop from Kirkuk, as price for oil steady rises.

Oil exports grew – barely – in March, taking advantage of the increasing price crude is fetching on the market, according to new data from Iraq’s Oil Ministry.

Iraq’s budget relies near solely on oil sales and needed government spending has been curtailed since the bottom fell out of record oil prices of 2008. Iraq's Oil Ministry is being pressed to increase exports to feed the budget.
