Iraq oil output rebounds in August

Production increased in August as OPEC-plus quotas continued to ease and fields in Iraqi Kurdistan recovered from drone attacks.

Iraq's nationwide crude production rebounded in August after falling significantly in July, mostly due to a recovery of fields operated by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) that had been taken offline due to drone attacks.

The increasing output comes as the OPEC-plus group continues to lift quotas faster than expected, giving Iraq leeway to take advantage of latent capacity and creating new urgency for the Oil Ministry to make progress on infrastructure projects required to unlock new production growth.
