Iraq prequalifies 7, including Total, for Nassiriya project bid

Iraq's Oil Ministry has approved France's Total as one of seven international oil companies qualified to bid on a massive oil and refinery project licensing round to be held later this year.

The combined project, to develop the 4.4 billion barrel Nassiriya oil field and build a 300,000 barrel per day (bpd) refinery, seeks to advance two projects that have been delayed in the past by investor disinterest in contract terms.
