Iraq is planning to build a new northern export pipeline with an estimated half-million barrels per day (bpd) of capacity, in an effort to drastically increase exports to Turkey that are currently hampered by chronic leaks, ruptures, and attacks.
"We have spoken to 15 companies specialized in this industry, for the construction of the new Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline. Nine of these companies submitted tenders," said Ministry of Oil spokesperson Assem Jihad. "It is hoped that these tenders will be opened next month."
