Kurdish boycott threatens Ninawa stability

Kurdish leaders of three of Ninawa’s districts have announced an indefinite boycott of the new provincial council threatening to enflame tensions between Arabs and Kurds.

The Kurdish Brotherly list which came second in the recent provincial election, winning about 25% of the popular vote and 12 council seats, took the move following the distribution of the province’s administrative positions, none of which were given to them.
