More than $4B in July oil sales

Crude exports hit highs and capitalize on steadily increasing prices to eclipse June earnings, as Iraq explains to investors what the second bidding round will offer.

BAGHDAD - Iraq’s oil production and exports hit post-2003 highs according to newly released official Oil Ministry data for July, and earn more revenue than previously reported.

Oil exports, which account for 95 percent of the country’s income, earned $4.065 billion last month. Iraqi oil sells for just under the global price, and averaged $64.42 per barrel in July.
