Nassiriya project bidding postponed indefinitely

ERBIL - Iraq's Oil Ministry announced Wednesday that it has postponed the bidding round for the 300,000 barrel per day (bpd) Nassiriya oil field and refinery project, which was set to take place on Thursday.

The new date has not been announced, but the delay comes after nearly a year of discussions with international oil companies (IOCs) over contract terms, as well as six months of intense violence that picked up drastically over the past 10 days.
