New North Oil director installed

Previous nominee replaced by Kirkuk-approved leader, despite previous objections over ethnicity.

The Kirkuk government has formally welcomed Fareed al-Jadir as head of the state-run North Oil Company (NOC), despite previous demands by the local government for a Kurd to lead the company.

The ministerial order naming Jadir said the promotion was effective Oct. 8, according to a copy obtained by Iraq Oil Report.
