Northern opposition

Kurdish and Arab political forces say that the emergence of a credible opposition in the Kurdistan region could lead to an improvement in relations between Erbil and Baghdad.

In recent parliamentary elections held in Kurdistan the two opposition blocs, the Change list and the Services and Reform list, won 38 out of 111 seats, significantly changing the region’s political landscape.
