Oil Ministry: new SOC chief in “search for the best”

Ministry spokesman says the government backs the move to dismiss dissenter and bring in new company director.

BAGHDAD - Fayadh Hassan Nima was removed as director general of Iraq’s South Oil Co. last week following his public criticism in the run-up to the June 30 oil and gas field auction, the ministry spokesman said.

"Therefore there was an investigation by the Council of Ministers," Assem Jihad said. The ministry has the "right to search for the best in the recruitment."
