Progress but no deal yet on Shell-Iraq gas company

BAGHDAD - A joint venture between Iraq’s South Gas Co., Shell and Mitsubishi to capture and monetize wasted gas is to be in front of the government before the election, Britain’s Ambassador to Iraq Christopher Prentice said.

"My latest information is that Shell and the Oil Ministry are in intensive negotiations and that there is a wish on both sides to bring that to cabinet before the end of this government," said Prentice. "That is still the intent."
