Q&A: Falah Alamri, director general of SOMO

VIENNA - By agreeing to participate in an OPEC cut, Iraq is taking a leap of faith - that upward pressure on global oil prices will compensate for reduced production, and ultimately lift state revenues.

As the director general of Iraq's State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO), Falah Alamri has his finger on the pulse of the oil market, and he expressed optimism that Iraq has struck a good deal, despite the complexities and uncertainties of today's industry.
