Q&A: Habib Abdul Amir, director of the Shuaiba refinery’s FCC project

BASRA - A major upgrade at the Shuaiba refinery in Basra is beginning to come online, promising to improve the country's production of high-quality fuel and help reduce a problematic glut of high-sulfur fuel oil.

The Japanese company JGC has begun operating some units of the Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) project, according to Habib Abdul Amir, the director of the project, who spoke with Iraq Oil Report at the project headquarters at Shuaiba.
