Qaiwan confirms Taq-Taq and Bina Bawi-fed refinery, pipeline and power plans

SULAIMANIYA - Qaiwan Group, a Kurdish conglomerate active in Sulaimaniya province of the Kurdistan Region, has confirmed it will increase refining capacity at the Bazian refinery in Kurdistan from 34,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 84,000 bpd.

A Qaiwan spokesman and a company executive confirmed that the expanded refinery will be fed by a 110 kilometer 18 inch pipeline from Taq-Taq and the Bina Bawi oil and gas field, which is operated by Austria’s OMV, with Genel holding the largest stake in the field.
