Questions over DNO affair prompt Iraqi Parliament query

Energy committee mixed in response, at least want formal written explanation from KRG, some calling for an investigation into the stock deal.

BAGHDAD - There are too many questions unanswered for the Iraqi Parliament’s Oil & Gas Committee, which Wednesday called on the Kurdistan Regional Government to detail its $27.9 million purchase of stock in Norwegian oil firm DNO, and then selling it to another investor in the northern Iraq oil sector, Turkey’s Genel Enerji.

Ali Hussein Belo, a Kurdish member of Iraqi parliament who heads the energy committee, said at this point they are waiting for an official letter from Ashti Hawrami, the KRG natural resources minister, whom at least two Kurdish MPs spoke to on the phone Tuesday.
