Regionalization battle in Basra, Iraq oil capital, takes next step

Basrawis will be asked to allow a vote on the future governance structure of their province beginning today. Iraq allows one or more provinces to form a region, which would allow it some added powers and privileges (though its uncertain the extent, and how like the semi-autonomous KRG another region would be).
